Mamas Who Run With the Wolves
An Erasmus+ KA210 Adult Education Cooperation Partnership
Mamas Who Run With the Wolves is a small-scale Erasmus+ cooperation project designed to support the well-being, personal development and empowerment of mothers of young children. The project recognizes that early motherhood is often accompanied by emotional challenges, social isolation and a lack of accessible support opportunities for personal growth.
Through a combination of experiential learning, artistic expression and community-based support, the project creates spaces where mothers can reconnect with themselves, strengthen their confidence and develop sustainable strategies for well-being.
The initiative focuses particularly on mothers who rarely have access to learning opportunities due to care responsibilities, lack of time, or limited support systems, aligning with the Erasmus+ priorities of inclusion, diversity and high-quality adult learning.
Project Objectives
Empowering Mothers and Enhancing Well-Being
The project aims to support mothers of young children in strengthening their mental health, personal development and overall well-being. This is achieved through 2.5-day experiential training courses based on non-formal and artistic learning methods, complemented by 1-day couple programmes designed to strengthen relationships and family dynamics.
These learning experiences offer mothers a rare opportunity to step outside their daily routines and engage in meaningful reflection, creative practices and personal renewal. During the training, participants develop personalised self-care plans, helping them better understand their needs and integrate sustainable well-being practices into everyday life.
Parental Support and Skill Development
To further support families, the project provides online parenting workshops that prepare mothers for participation in the training programmes while strengthening parenting competencies.
These workshops introduce participants to topics such as child development, neuroscience, emotional regulation and gentle parenting approaches, providing practical tools and knowledge that parents can apply in daily family life. The project also contributes to the Erasmus+ priority of improving flexible, accessible and high-quality adult learning, offering blended learning opportunities that combine online and in-person experiences.
Building Strong Community Support
A key dimension of the project is the creation of local women’s circles, which offer ongoing support and connection for mothers beyond the training activities.
These circles, rooted in traditional forms of community gathering but adapted to contemporary needs, provide a safe space for women to share experiences, learn together and support one another. Facilitated by trained participants from previous programmes, the circles help build resilient local communities and long-term peer support networks.
By creating regular meeting spaces for learning, dialogue and mutual support, the project contributes to the development of local learning environments and innovative community-based adult education practices.
